July 30, 2012 - NEWS from Arizona State Capitol, Phoenix, Arizona: The Honorable Governor Jan Brewer held a signing ceremony to celebrate the passage of Arizona House Bill (HB) 2373, the "Life Means Life" truth-in-sentencing legislation advocated by several Arizonans since 2007. The "Life Means Life" legislation was sponsored by Representative Eddie Farnsworth (R-Gilbert) and championed by Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery. The legislation was originally signed by Governor Brewer on April 6, 2012. The "Life Means Life" truth-in-sentencing law will ensure 1st degree murderers are held fully accountable for their heinous crimes of violence. The "Life Means Life" law ensures a life sentence for a first degree murderer will be a natural life sentence.
